Welcome to the 4th edition of the Finance in Common Summit!
The 2023 edition of the Finance in Common Summit (FiCS), hosted in Cartagena, Colombia, will gather Public Development Banks’ (PDBs) representatives from around the world and their main players in the sustainable financing to showcase their crucial role to make finance more inclusive and more sustainable.
About Finance in Common
The main purpose of the event is to bring together all public development banks (PDBs) from all around the world, together with their main partners, with a view to showcase how they play an irreplaceable role making finance more inclusive and sustainable.
SMEs AND FINANCIAL INCLUSION
Smaller businesses, women or vulnerable populations are traditionally excluded from the formal financial system and PDBs can play a key role to increase their economic opportunities.
Climate and biodiversity
PDBs must have a leading role in developing new tools to close the financial gap for mitigation and adaptation to climate change and to promote the protection of natural capital and the biodiversity.
Sustainable infrastructure
Most emerging economies face infrastructure investment gaps along with the need to make the energy transition, increase digital connectivity and ensure sustainable access to basic services for all.
PDBs institutional agenda
All these challenges ahead need better institutional capacity, regulation, and governance of the development finance ecosystem.
The objective of the event, building on existing coalitions, is to create new alliances for the future of development banking.
Through innovative financing solutions and tools, contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs).

New partners join The fourth Finance in Common Summit
Bogotá, August 9, 2023. The Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, the Italian public development bank Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, and the Caribbean Development Bank are also joining as partners to bolster efforts and expected financing commitments to achieve the Paris Agreement and Agenda 2030.
Colombia will Host the World’s Summit of Development Banks in 2023
Bogotá, June 30, 2023 The conclusions of the "New Global Financing Pact" Summit, held in Paris, France, on June 22-23, 2023, in the presence of HOS President Gustavo Petro, will directly feed into the World Summit of Public Development Banks (FiCS 2023), which will take place in Cartagena, Colombia, from September 4-6, 2023.
Finance In Common Summit 2023
Bogota, D.C., February 15, 2023. Bancóldex, Colombia's business development bank, will host, together with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the Latin American Association of Financial Institutions for Development (ALIDE), the fourth edition of the Finance in Common Summit (FICS), the global network of public development banks.
